Site Maintenance

Overview
We are constantly updating and enhancing the PTC Benefits Web site and all of its components.
Some of the maintenance chores may require the Web site, or sections of it, to be unavailable for short periods
of time, usually between one to three hours; other chores might require the whole site to shutdown
for longer periods of time, usually one evening per month.
As always, we appreciate your patience during maintenance outages. The information shown in this
page will change from time to time, so please check back periodically.

Scheduling
The hours of operation are 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Whenever possible, we try to
schedule routine maintenance outages once per month between 8:00PM to 8:00AM EST on a weekday.
We will make every effort to publish in advance all scheduled downtimes. In some instances, we will
notify all subscribed users and clients, via e-mail, of scheduled extended shutdowns.
Routine maintenance...
Routine maintenance usually involves upgrades, enhancements, and fixes to the business components
behind this Web site, and may require the Web site, or sections of it, to shutdown for short periods
of time, usually between one to three hours. Currently, we do these maintenance chores one evening a month,
unless a hot fix is required for any of the components, in which case we apply the patch as soon as
one is available.
A special review of the site content every time rates are renewed. If significant changes occur, such as
a new plan design, the site might be unavailable for an extended period of time, or might not reflect the
changes for an extended period of time.
Preventive maintenance...
Preventive maintenance usually involves hardware and software upgrades to the server and network
infrastructure of this site, such as web, database, router and mail servers, and usually require the whole site to
shutdown for longer periods of time, usually an evening or a weekend. Whenever possible, we will try to
schedule preventive upgrades a month ahead.
Emergency maintenance...
Emergency maintenance, such as applying a security patch, restore a database or restart a crashed server, will
generally shutdown the whole site for short periods of time. Whenever possible, we will try to announce these
types of maintenance chores at least 12-24 hours in advance.
